The Grants Pass Family YMCA Youth Enrichment Center (YEC) — located at 1701 SW Nebraska Avenue — is a licensed childcare facility conveniently located across the highway from the main YMCA location, serving children ages 3 to 12 in a safe and supportive environment.

The YEC provides a safe, engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Designed to support working families, the YEC offers a balance of academic support, hands-on learning, physical activity, and creative exploration. Through structured programs and play-based experiences, children build confidence, develop social skills, and discover new interests in a positive and inclusive setting. More than just childcare, the YEC is a place where kids feel supported, connected, and inspired every day.

ABOUT THE YEC

In response to the growing need for childcare following the pandemic, the YMCA expanded its services with the opening of the Youth Enrichment Center. This licensed facility features 7,000 square feet of indoor space, 4,000 square feet of outdoor play space, and a dedicated large motor room, allowing us to increase both our capacity and the quality of care we provide.

At the YEC, we incorporate the core YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility into our daily programming. Through play-based learning and social activities (such as games, crafts, and group discussions) children are given opportunities to grow socially, physically, emotionally, and intellectually.

We are proud to support families by accepting Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) and offering financial assistance, as well as a multiple-child discount to help make quality childcare more accessible.

Above all, we are committed to creating a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where every child feels accepted and free to have fun.

YEC PROGRAMS

OST – Out of School Time

The Out of School Time program provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children in kindergarten through 6th grade when school is not in session, including full-day programming on Fridays. We are committed to providing a safe, structured, and enriching environment where children can engage in a variety of activities, including open-ended art, STEM exploration, and outdoor play.

Transportation is available via bus service from Allendale, Fruitdale, Highland, Lincoln, Madrona, Parkside, Redwood, and Riverside elementary schools, as well as South Middle School.

Program hours are Monday through Thursday after school until 6:00 PM, and Fridays from 7:30 AM to
6:00 PM. Nutritious afternoon snacks are provided daily.

Parents/Guardians will need to complete medical information via ePACT prior to program participation.
Nutritious snacks and water are served every afternoon, but participants may bring their own healthy snacks.
Children who attend a full day will need to bring their own lunch.
The facility will be closed and OST childcare will be unavailable on the following days:
- September 1st, 2025
- November 11th, 27th, & 28th, 2025
- December 22nd – 31st, 2025
- January 1st-2nd & 19th, 2026
- February 16th, 2026
- March 23rd – 27th, 2026
- May 25th, 2026

Full-Time Preschool

Designed to support working families, the full-time preschool program serves children ages 3 to 5 who are fully potty trained. The program emphasizes consistent routines, engaging, play-based learning experiences, and ample opportunities for social development and creative exploration.

Through a balanced approach that includes guided activities, free play, and rest, children build foundational skills in a safe and supportive environment while developing confidence and independence. It’s more than just childcare, it’s a full day of learning, discovery, and connection.

The program operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Part-Time Preschool

The part-time preschool program at the Grants Pass Family YMCA offers a flexible, high-quality early learning experience designed prepare your child for Kindergarten through play-based learning with a focus on social & emotional growth without a full-day commitment.

Program Ages: 3-5 & fully potty trained
Program Days: Monday – Thursday
Program Times: 8:30 – 11:30 AM
Program Monthly Fee: $300

Summer Day Camp

Our Summer Day Camp is designed for children entering First through Seventh grade and offers a fun, safe, and engaging environment all summer long. Campers will enjoy a variety of exciting field trips, hands-on activities, games, and opportunities to build friendships while staying active and creative.
