Meet Ollie the Otter
Mascot of the Grants Pass Family YMCA!
Long ago, nestled in the clear, cool waters of the Rogue River, a playful little otter named Ollie was born into a tight-knit otter family known for their curiosity and adventurous spirit. From the moment he could paddle, Ollie was drawn to exploring every bend and boulder of the river, always splashing and sliding with joy.
But Ollie wasn’t just any river otter—he had a big heart and an even bigger dream: to help others feel safe and confident in the water, just like he did. Ollie was captivated by kids learning to swim at the Grants Pass Family YMCA with their determination and giggles. He knew he had found his second home.
Ollie has become the YMCA’s official mascot and water safety ambassador! Whether it’s cheering on first-time swimmers, reminding families to stay safe near water, or leading fun activities and events, Ollie is always there with a big smile (and a splash!).

With his sleek fur and mischievous grin, Ollie spends his days swimming, sliding down riverbanks, and sharing his love for the water with the community.
Ollie’s Mission
Ollie believes that everyone, no matter their age, should feel confident and safe in the water. As the Grants Pass Family YMCA’s official mascot, he leads swim lessons, participates in community events, and spreads the message of water safety throughout the Rogue Valley.
