Lose-It

Healthy Habits & Expert Support

Are you ready to transform your lifestyle and reach your personal health goals? The Grants Pass Family YMCA invites you to join our next 16-week Lose-It program.

Lose-It is a comprehensive wellness course designed to give you a strong foundation in both nutrition and exercise. Rather than focusing on a quick fix, this unique program integrates critical life skills, lifestyle support, personal accountability, and expert training to ensure long-term health and wellness success.

What the Program Includes:

  • Weekly Core Sessions: Stay on track with group sessions entirely focused on reinforcing healthy habits, foundational nutrition guidance, and personal accountability.

  • Personal Training: Receive ten (10) private 30-minute sessions with a certified personal trainer to build a safe, effective workout routine tailored specifically for your body.

  • Life Coaching: Dig deeper into your wellness goals and mental resilience with two (2) dedicated Life Coaching sessions.

  • Metabolic Testing: Learn how your unique body burns calories with scientific metabolic testing to help optimize your nutrition plan.

Please note: Lose-It is a full 16-week commitment. Participants must be willing and able to attend all scheduled meetings to the best of their ability to achieve maximum results.

Smart Moves® Youth Weight Management Program

Unlock your child's potential and build a foundation for a healthy life! Smart Moves® is a comprehensive, family-focused lifestyle and weight management program specifically designed for adolescents. Meeting twice a week for 12 weeks, this program combines vital nutrition education, behavior modification, and physical activity to help families establish healthy habits that last a lifetime.

How the Program Works:

The program follows a healthy lifestyle approach that actively involves parents and caregivers to ensure long-term family success:

  • Nutrition Education: Includes one (1) dedicated nutrition class per week. These sessions are designed for parents/caregivers and children to attend together, learning how to make healthy dietary choices as a team.

  • Physical Activity: Includes two (2) fun and engaging physical activities per week to keep adolescents moving and motivated.

  • Behavior Modification: Teaches core skills to promote positive behavioral changes and sustainable, healthier everyday lifestyles.

Program Eligibility:

This program is open to families who meet the following criteria:

  • Open to children and adolescents between ages 7 and 17.

  • The participating child has a BMI over the 85th percentile.

  • A parent or caregiver must be willing and able to attend the sessions alongside the child twice per week.

Moving and Coping with Pain

No one should have to suffer from chronic pain. If persistent pain is impacting your quality of life, the Grants Pass Family YMCA is here to support you. Through our specialized Moving & Coping with Pain program, participants have the unique opportunity to work one-on-one with dedicated YMCA staff to learn actionable, physical, and mental skills to effectively cope with chronic pain.

What is Included in the Program:

To provide a holistic approach to pain management, this personalized program includes:

  • Personal Training: Six (6) private 30-minute sessions with a personal trainer to create a customized exercise and movement program tailored to meet your unique goals.

  • Life Coaching: Two (2) individual 30-minute Life Coaching sessions designed to help you achieve your wellness goals through personalized guidance and emotional support.

  • Massage Therapy: Two (2) therapeutic 60-minute massage sessions focused on helping your body relax, alleviate tension, and heal.

Flexibility Classes

Heart & Soles

10:30am Tuesday & Thursday

Heart & soles is a low impact aerobic movement class for any fitness level, combined with a variety of flexibility, strengthening and toning exercises for total body workouts.

Pilates

9:45am Tuesday & Thursday

Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. it puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core and improving coordination and balance.

Gentle Yoga

11am Monday & Friday, 10:15am Wednesday, 5:30pm Monday & Wednesday

A slow-paced class to revitalize and ground featuring seated and supported postures with a gentle vinyasa. Class moves though a series of movements that we will hold for 3 to 5 breaths as we connect breath to body to improve relaxation, flexibility and recovery.

Tai Chi

An ancient Chinese tradition practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner, accompanied by deep breathing. Improve balance, coordination & posture.

Sensory Friendly Classes

This fitness class is based on the Sensory Circuits techniques, stimulating the mind through a mixture of fitness and sensory friendly activities.

Adult participants must be accompanied by a caregiver/assistant.
