Dear YMCA Family Members,
Thank you for being a valued member of our Y family. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create global shifts and uncertainty, we wanted to communicate with you about our future together.
With the closure of our YMCAs extended through December 3rd following the mandates and recommendations of officials, we too feel the worry that such uncertainty has brought. However, one thing remains—when we stand with our neighbors through moments that seem dark, we come out even stronger for it. As a Y movement strongly rooted in charitable non-profit work for over 170 years, we have maintained and adapted to serve the most pressing needs of our community and the people who call this community home. In times of crisis, we hold fast to this commitment.
As we continue to serve our community’s needs in new and different ways, we are asking you to stay with us and keep your membership active if it's within your means. Your membership allows us to fulfill our mission and to continue serving the communities we love. The Y does not receive state and government funding to support our operational needs and functions.
• We’ve partnered with many other local organizations and leaders in our community to ensure that we continue to reach out and serve those in need during this time by Wellness check in calls.
• We will continue to provide childcare services for emergency, medical, and essential personnel so that they can continue serving during this time when their talents and skills are so desperately needed.
• And, because we know our community needs to stay active, we are providing options to maintain a healthy lifestyle from home through the Virtual YMCA 360 on our Facebook page.
• We will also continue to offer personal training, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Synergie cellulite treatment. Looking to the future, your membership today will help us be the Y you remember when we are able to open our doors again. We are grateful for the overwhelming support of members who are continuing their membership during this closure. We have set up several membership options to best serve you during this time. • #StayWithUs and continue membership through the closure.
• Convert your membership draft to a tax-deductible charitable donation. When we are able to reopen, your charitable donation will convert back to your regular membership dues.
• We also understand that some may not be able to maintain membership during this time. You can place your membership on hold or discuss other options, and we'
e waiving the 30-day notice requirement because we understand that these are unusual circumstances.
Because membership dues are scheduled to draft, please let us know as soon as possible which option you are choosing by calling or emailing us at email@example.com. The Y staff is working as quickly as possible to respond to every request. Please know that your Y is so eager to serve you and we look forward to the day we can all be together again at the Y. Thank you again for being a part of our YMCA. We are honored to work alongside you in building a stronger, healthier community for all. Please take care of yourself and one another. Our community is strong and, together, we will get through this.

YMCA's Weight Loss Program
SUPPORTING WELLNESS TOGETHER -
Reach your wellness goals with us! Participating in the YMCA's Weight Loss Program is a great way to learn how to eat healthier, move more, and lose weight. There are no gimmicks and no restrictive approaches - just the tools you need to make the necessary changes to achieve your wellness goals. Our program provides helpful tips and strategies to incorporate nutrition and physical activity into your lifestyle, while also addressing motivation, obstacles, and pitfalls that make losing weight (and keeping it off) such a challenge.
The Program -
The YMCA's Weight Loss Program is designed to help adults seeking a healthier weight achieve their goals by making small changes to their daily behaviors and forming sustainable healthy habits. Participants joining the program should be ready to commit to daily food and physical activity tracking, as well as developing self-designed action plans.
Topics covered during the program include balanced eating, physical activity, stress and sleep, positive psychology, goal setting and sustainability.
Because weight loss is unique to each person, the program focuses on helping individuals identify ways to make changes within the context of their own life and in support of their goals. Prescribed meal or exercise plans are not provided. The program is not intended for those with specialized needs due to chronic disease or the onset of chronic disease.

Out of School Time
Registration Starts August 27th, 2020
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Grants Pass Family YMCA has stepped up to address the most critical of priorities: childcare. As an essential service, we are here to help parents, educators and students not only get through the school year, but to thrive in an everchanging environment. Parents working at home or at their place of occupation need the extra support to care for their children. Children in our programs receive free Breakfast and Lunch through the school districts and the Y provides a morning and afternoon snack.
New orders will take effect Friday, July 24
Governor Kate Brown announced new and updated restrictions pertinent to our business. They are: · Reduced indoor venues capacity (like restaurants, churches and places of worship, movie theaters, gyms and community centers) will be lowered to 100, including staff. · Face coverings are now required when exercising indoors. · Children five and older must wear a face covering in indoor public spaces, and outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained. It is suggested but not recommended that children between the ages of two to five also wear a mask. You will not be required to wear masks in the pool.
